Are we motivated in the corporate world?
"Motivation" is a popular word that we use frequently lately, is on everyone's lips. Most of us don't even know the meaning of this word, but we use it often. So what is this motivation?
Actually, motivation is a driving force. We all have goals, a path we want to achieve. Motivation represents an internal process of motivation that initiates this process. What and how we want to do, it starts with motivation. You work for a good company and want a promotion because you think it's the right time. So, what will you do? Everything starts here actually; You've thought about your first step! You've worked hard on your second step! You have managed your behavior and you are perfect; you got the job! This is what motivation really is: it is about raising ourselves through thoughts and actions.
We are not always going to raise ourselves, let the outside world pamper us a little! We all want to be rewarded by others. People are social living beings and like to be appreciated. Your boss gave you a very tough job today. You did not eat, you did not drink, you did not sleep a wink, but you completed this task successfully the next day. You heard two words from your boss, "You are the king!". An external appreciation, compliment, or congratulation shows us that extrinsic motivation can also create great motivation in our lives.
In the current corporate world, how companies manage employee motivation has become a highly intriguing subject. The employee may be exposed to many positive or negative factors during the day. Situations experienced both in their personal life and in the business environment may affect individuals. You get a call, get good news, or have the worst conversation of your life with your best friend. Or the job you want so much is given to another friend. In such cases, the employee cannot focus on his job, and his work efficiency decreases. Sometimes he or she manages to motivate himself/herself and completes the day well, sometimes it needs extrinsic motivation.
Managers have to develop strategies that will encourage employee motivation to increase company productivity. While some employees are motivated by premium and salary increases, others want to see their labor noticed. Modernized corporate life has to offer us a mixed module of these, because even though an employee whose work is noticed has completed his inner motivation, he wants to see the reward, the salary increase, which is the manifestation of this. Intrinsic and extrinsic motivation are complementary factors.
Employees are motivated in an environment where they feel belonging and find peace. Our company is the place where we spend more than half of the day, our second home. Managers are the hosts. The manager should always be in contact with the employees to increase their motivation. They should share knowledge, teach new things, and even plan training to reduce their shortcomings. Well, are we always going to work, is there no fun? Today, most companies organize entertainment organizations. New Year's parties, company's anniversary galas, holidays, leave on birthdays and even promotion parties are held to announce the success of the employee. The message that "you are valuable to us" is given to the employee.
There is only one myth for motivation: believing. The connection can be established If the employee believes in himself and the company believes in his employee. And if they strive to strengthen this bond and make it sustainable, they will be a super couple who can easily overcome difficulties.
